How to keep fit naturally

Over the centuries, we have tried to live longer. We have modern medical science to cure diseases which were incurable a few decades ago. Is there any method to remain healthy throughout your life? Although modern science has tried to make our life easy and comfortable, yet we suffer from various diseases, Why? The reason is quite obvious; we are not making the best of our physical capabilities. Most of our work are done by machines and computers.

What is the solution then? Should we start manual work to keep healthy? Not at all. The least we can do is make our life more active and use our body for physical activities they are meant for. Gyms are modern solution to the sedentary lifestyle related disease, but do we really retain the body and shape after a certain age when we quit gym for some reason? The answer is no . We need to stick to a regular exercise routine all the time to stay fit, which is not possible for everyone, everywhere.

I have been a regular practitioner of Yogic exercises for quite sometime. I think that the bottom-line of remaining fit and slowing down the aging process is the flexibility of your body. The more flexible your body the slower will you age. There are various methods and exercises recommended for fitness which are very effective. I believe that only a few postures, if done regularly can prove to be anti aging.

1. Shoulder stand is very effective for overall fitness of the body and heart. The longer you can stay in this posture without any support, the better. We should make it a point to let the body relax, by lying down in a dead body posture. If we perform shoulder stand for 10 minutes, 5 minutes after the exercise should be spent lying down like a corpse. This exercise is very effective as the whole body except the head is upside down, veins and heart receive a lot of blood which results in keeping the heart and other systems fit and fine. It does not require any equipment, all we need to take care of is that it should be performed on empty stomach and relaxation should be done.

2. Stretching is an exercise which can be done any time of the day. We should try to touch our toes without bending the knees. If we can do this exercise, and remain in this position for 5-10 minutes daily, spine becomes flexible . As I said earlier, flexibility of spine and whole body is very important for slowing the aging process. Try to start slowly and gradually attain mastery over these exercises.

3. As we know diet is very important, we should take as much natural food as possible . Vegetarianism not only helps us live longer, but also makes us strong emotionally and mentally which results in stress free life. Breathing fresh air early in the morning are very helpful in keeping fit.
 Other important things for slowing down aging process is staying away from smoking and alcohol. These habits speed up the aging process therefore keep them at bay
